Having grown up in a Christian community, I’m aware that I’ve always been sheltered and my faith has not yet been put to the test. Because of this, I felt called to serve God in a setting where I would be uncomfortable and unfamiliar with my surroundings; my hope is that this will force me to truly put my trust in Him and grow in faith while making a difference in the world. On top of this, since I was young my dad has cultivated in me an appreciation for travel and adventure, so that was also a factor in making the decision to go on this trip.
