Halfway Point: Growing Up and Growling Tummies

How time flies when you’re having fun. We have already reached the halfway point of our grade three year!

Changes in snack time

  • In the beginning of the year, students would get very hungry and lose ability to focus by 10:15. So, we made that our regular snack time. Now that our children have gotten bigger and tougher, we have begun having our snacks at 10:45 (after recess) for more efficient learning blocks. It may be that a larger or more dense breakfast, and or snack, may be helpful for your child’s learning¬†moving forward
  • Proteins and healthy fats are extremely helpful in making food “last” longer. Food with fiber is also excellent. Personally, I find the very tasty (and expensive) snacks we get at grocery stores tend to fail me before my next meal. Perhaps an extra serving of protein, dairy, or fruit will do the trick.

Photos of some winter fun have been added to the “Sights and Sounds of 3A” shared album for your viewing pleasure.

No Spelling for two weeks!

  • Due to the number of field trips and special events happening at this time, our normal Spelling routine has been cancelled for the next two weeks. We will start up again the week of Student Led Conferences (Feb 24th).
