Student Headphones

RCS Elementary is requesting that each child (kindergarten to grade 5) have their own set of personal headphones for use during computer classes.  The main reason for this request is to reduce the spread of germs and head lice.  Students who do not have a set of headphones will have access to school-wide shared headsets for a limited time.

To give families a very economical option, the school has purchased a bulk supply of “school use” headsets.  At the end of the year, these headphones will go home with the students and can be returned for school use the following September.  These are high-quality headsets that should last your child for many years.  A sample is at the office for parents to inspect.  The cost is only $15 (50% off the Amazon.ca price).

Please note:

– Parents are welcome to send their own headset (headphones or earbuds) to school in a labeled ziploc bag.

– Headphones are available for classroom order from October 18 to November 5.  Please use the order form in this week’s RCS News.  Please pay by cash (exact amount) or cheque (made out to RCS).

– Headphones will be stored in your child’s classroom in individual ziploc bags.

– After November 5, headphones may be purchased directly from the office during parent-teacher conferences on November 6 and 7.

– If you have any questions, please contact our principal, Mrs. Neufeld, at dneufeld@richmondchristian.ca

On Wednesday, October 24, many of our grade 4 and 5 students will be attending the annual Bear Creek Park Cross-Country Run.  Students who have met the running requirements and who have returned their permission forms will be traveling by bus to Bear Creek Park in Surrey.  Students not attending this off-campus event will have regular classes led by Mrs. Kinniston  in Room #202.  Miss Epp will be at the park, supervising the runners.

The athletes will need to:  wear appropriate running gear; bring extra layers of clothes for warmth and rain protection; and bring a snack, lunch, and waterbottle.  Please do not bring any valuables to the park.

This will be a special day!  Parents are encouraged to meet us at the park to cheer on their children.
