Super Hero Day

Posted by pepp | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on November 12, 2019

“Boom! Zap! Pow! Put on your capes, because November 15th is RCS Elementary Hero Day! Come dressed up as your favourite hero — a Bible hero, a comic book hero, or a community hero, the possibilities are endless. This is your chance to get creative and honour all the superheroes in our lives — both fictional and the real-life.”

Remembrance Day Poppies

Posted by pepp | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on November 4, 2019

This Friday, Chapel will be focusing on Remembrance Day. Each student will be given the opportunity to wear a poppy. These poppies are from the Royal Canadian Legion and a small donation is encouraged for the Legion that supplied RCS with these poppies. We encourage you to talk with your child about Remembrance Day and its significance. If you desire, please have your child bring a small coin donation for the poppies that they will be receiving on Friday. We look forward to supporting those that have sacrificed in a meaningful manner for our freedoms as we honour our veterans.

Paid Parent Recess Supervisors

Posted by pepp | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on September 11, 2019

There are so many great reasons to sign up and be paid to be at RCS.  This year we need Parent Supervisors only at MORNING RECESS.

Why is that so great?  It is great because Parent Supervisors have less students at one time to oversee because we have changed our schedule to two 15-minute morning recesses. The first recess is from 10:30-10:45 for Kindergarten to Grade 3. The second recess is from 10:45 to 11:00 and is only for Grade 4’s and 5’s. Our deep hope is that students and supervisors will have greater success during these distinct play times. Becoming a Supervisor is great way to be connected, help the school, and get some Starbuck’s money on the side!

We are looking for at least 15 parents who speak English and can commit from September to June for at least one time per week during the 10:15-11:15 time period. Currently we have our busy and over committed teachers covering the morning recess supervision, in addition to their before, after school and lunch supervisions.  Please email at rteodora@myrcs.ca or call the Elementary Office to sign up.

Thank you for considering this request to help at the Elementary Campus.
