April is National Poetry Month and this Thursday, April 30 is Poem in your Pocket Day. Since we can’t celebrate in person, please share your favourite poems here by Thursday!

If you are a budding poet, then be sure to enter the Poetry In Voice Writing Contest. Entries are due this Thursday.

If you want to hone your writing skills, check out this great resource for teens from poets.org.

We have some audiobooks and ebooks available through our secondary campus library. These can be found through Destiny Discover but we will need to set up an online account for you first. If you’re interested just email me at ememmott@myrcs.ca

Audible is an audiobook service that usually requires a membership, but they are offering free audiobooks online during the COVID crisis to support remote learning! There are about a hundred tween and teen options available for free.

Abdo Digital Bookshelf has ebook options available for free in the next few months to support school closures.  These must be read online. There are fiction, non-fiction and graphic novel options. You can browse by grade group or audience to narrow your search.

Sync Audiobooks for Teens is offering 2 free audiobooks every week for 10 weeks! Sign up here.

Coming Soon! Our school will provide access to Libby. Until then you can access it through your local public library. Download the App, set up your account with your library card, and you can search and check out available books with the click of a button!
