A Rocha Field Trip

Hello Parents,

Just a reminder that we will be going to A Rocha tomorrow. Please help your child prepare the following:

1. Warm clothes, a jacket, and Rubber BOOTS.

2. All activities will be run outside, rain or shine.  It is important for students to come well-dressed for the weather!  Rubber boots should be worn, especially as we are doing activities by a pond and a river.

We will be leaving the school right at 8:30am and returning around 12:40pm. Your child will need a snack for the field trip and a lunch for at school. They will be back for hot lunch and NOVA foods.

All parents who have volunteered to come along to help with supervision are welcome to attend with us. There is no room for parents on the bus so volunteers will have to drive on their own; there are many 2H parents coming along so there should be opportunities for carpooling. Please talk among yourselves to arrange rides.

Tomorrow’s the Big Day

Our Chapel presentation will be held tomorrow. We had an excellent final rehearsal this morning. I have no doubt that they will be amazing tomorrow. Just a reminder that your child should arrive early at 8:15am. I WILL OPEN THE OUTSIDE CLASSROOM DOOR AT THAT TIME SO YOU CAN ENTER THE CLASSROOM FROM THERE.

PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL WITH THEIR SCRIPT.

If your child is an actor in the stories, they can wear whatever clothes you would like, preferably reflecting their part.

Please make sure your child is not late. I look forward to seeing you all bright and early tomorrow.

Chapel on Friday

We will be presenting Chapel this Friday, October 19, 2018. Please help your child practice their parts at home. Remind them to practice speaking with expression, good volume, and having their scripts down and away from their face. Also please send the script to school everyday so we can use it to practice in class.

If your child is a narrator or an actor in the scenarios, they can wear whatever clothes you would like, preferable something that matches their part.

On Friday, please plan to arrive slightly earlier. I will open the outside classroom door at 8:15am. I will also check the front school doors. This extra time will help us be prepared and ready to go.

The Week of October 8th

Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you are enjoying the time with your family.

Chapel

2H will be presenting Chapel on Friday, October 19th, 2018. For Chapel this year, we will focus on using incredible words. We have begun practicing this week. Please keep us in your prayers as we gather our thoughts and ideas and explore creative ways to present to the school what God is teaching us. Your child should have brought home the script, so please help them practice their parts at home. Remind them to practice their parts with good volume and eye contact. If they are an actor have them practice what actions they will be doing.

Name Presentations

The students have been asked to find out what their names mean. Please help your child by discussing and answering these questions on the blue sheet that came home. This would be a great time to tell your child the story behind their names (i.e. family name, biblical references, cultural origins, etc.) and how you picked their names for them.
You child will be presenting their findings starting Oct. 9th. Please help them practice telling about their name. They can use the sheet to help share the information.
Please help your child complete the information sheet they brought home and return it to school by Tuesday, October 9th, 2018.

Library

Library is on Tuesday this week. Please make sure your child brings their library bag.

Bible Memory Verse

The students will receive their new verse on Tuesday. They will have two weeks to learn it.

There is no school on Monday (Oct 8th) due to Thanksgiving.

Tapestry Walk

The students will be walking to the Tapestry church on Wednesday morning. Please make sure they dress for the weather.
