Where you can find out what's happening in Grade 2

Merry Christmas

Thank you for the very generous present. I can’t wait to go shopping.

Some reminders

If you are going on vacation during the holidays, please do not take your library books with you. We do not want any of the books to go missing.

School will start again on Monday, January 7th, 2019. See you then.

I hope you all have a safe and restful holiday. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The Week of December 10th

Thank you for all your help this week organizing your child and making sure they had what they needed for each day. It was appreciated.

Home Reading Minutes

Thank you for encouraging your child to develop a habit of reading and recording each night. Next week, I will be recording the number of minutes that your child has read and written in their home reading log. Over the weekend, would you please help your child add up all the minutes read this term (up to this week) and let me know by Thursday, December 13th. This could be a great math exercise to help your child count by 10s and 5s.

I know several children were very diligent in reading daily, but did not record their minutes read. If your child was not consistent in recording minutes, just add whatever time they have written. Your child will not be penalized for the number of minutes. We will be using this number, however big or small, to set reading goals for Term 2 in January. Thank you for your help.

Library will be on Monday. Please make sure your child brings their library bag.

The library will be closed after school on Friday, December 14th. Students are welcome to keep their books over the break. If you are planning to travel, please keep library books at home.

Bible Verse

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11

They will recite on Friday, December 14th.

The students will receive their new words on Monday. They will be tested on Friday, December 14th.
