“Ever since a young age I have found myself intrigued with what the nature of the Christian faith outside of North America was like. When the opportunity to serve on the Guatemala missions team on behalf of the school arose, I felt called to put my faith to the test and experience Christianity in an environment unlike the one in which I live in. Serving in such an environment is especially exciting as I learn to be a steward of God’s varied grace. I am hopeful that this will result in me developing more as a disciple of Christ as I learn to put my trust in Him. Additionally, I am eager to work with the Guatemalan children and witness the Lord’s presence within them.” – Cameron Brawn
“God has been so good to me throughout my entire life, and He continues to amaze me in different ways. It finally hit me in the end of May that I would be going to Guatemala, and I am so excited! I am anticipating what God has in store for both the Guatemalans and I. God has given me many blessings so that others can be blessed. I hope through this experience we will bless each other and that I will be able to take this experience and incorporate it back in Richmond.” – Sanmi Sakamoto
“As a graduating student of RCS I am so excited to get a chance to visit Guatemala and let God use my hands and feet (literally) to help spread His love. After all of the Guatemala team meetings I want to say that I’ve fully prepared my heart for going down there but if I’m being honest, it is quite nerve wracking. I have felt God call me out of my comfort zone in Canada to bring hope and a helping hand to those who are just as hungry for God as I am. I feel like going out and physically doing God’s work is a huge responsibility that we as Christians are called to do. Matthew 28:19 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations” has touched my heart more than once this year and I am can’t wait to see how God uses me during our trip to Guatemala.” – Veronica Ford
