The team was warmly welcomed this morning by elementary school children and we had the privilege of being led by their exuberant worship. The hugs we received filled us with joy and love, and gave us energy for the work day ahead. Off to another school to move concrete blocks up a hill by wheel barrow to supply the construction of an additional classroom. A lot of sweat and teamwork got the job done.
After lunch we drove to Coban, a large nearby city, where we visited sick children and newborns and their mothers in the hospital there. We went in with stuffed toys and infant supplies and prayed with the families. It was mind-boggling to learn that many had to travel for hours (some for up to ten hours) to get to the hospital. It was difficult to see so many suffering, but it was such a privilege to be able to pray with them.
