February In The Learning Commons

kindness tree

We challenge you this month to spot acts of kindness that are happening around the school.  When you catch someone in the act, ask your teacher for a HEART, and write it down.  We will add all of the hearts to the Kindness Tree, featured on the window outside of the Learning Commons.  With your help, we hope to see the Kindness Tree in full bloom by the end of the month!

lunchtime in the learning Commons

For the first two weeks in February, you can make Valentine’s cards during your lunchtime in the Learning Commons.  If you are interested in making a card, please take a look at the Valentine’s Day Card blog post, and sign up.  Don’t forget to bring your scissors, glue, drawing supplies, and a thin sharpie.  We will have the rest of the supplies that you need!

JANUARY IN THE LEARNING COMMONS

Happy New Year!  With a new year comes some new changes in the Learning Commons.  Mrs. Jenden is on her maternity leave, and had a beautiful baby girl, Eleanor.  We would also like to introduce you to your new Teacher Librarians.  Mrs. Tinsley will be in the Learning Commons on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Mrs. Sharpe will be here on Wednesdays and Fridays.  We will be alternating Mondays.  We both look forward to meeting you and we are excited to do some exciting things with your class during your lunchtime in the Learning Commons!

try something new challenge

This month we are hosting a Try Something New Challenge.  We look forward to seeing what new things you try this month!

Remember you will need to show proof of each new thing you have tried. Report back to Mrs. Tinsley or Mrs. Sharpe by the end of the month to get your sticker and be entered in a draw to win a prize.
