January maker challenges: Try something new!

The new year is a great time to try something new. Check out 4 opportunities to try something new this month – as well as a chance to win a gift card!

try a new recipe:

Did you know we have some awesome cookbooks just in the library? All you need to do for this challenge is check one out, try out a new recipe and share a photo with us on the Padlet. Submit a photo any time before Jan 30th

Try a new craft:

Come immerse yourself in the cozy world of fibre arts and make a mini macrame weaving! Sign up for a tutorial on January 16 or 23 (just one per person) – spots are limited.

try a new challenge: tinkersketch

TinkerSketch is a challenge to respond to a daily drawing prompt. The goal is to make time (even if it’s just a tiny bit) to celebrate your creative self and jump start creativity through sketching. It’s up to you how you interpret the prompt, the only requirement is to sketch something! We’ll have a table set up for the month of January, and you can come any day to respond to the prompt!

Try out new tech: Robotics

Come tinker and explore, or create and code while you learn more about robotics! No experience necessary. When you sign up we’ll ask you to indicate the level of experience you have. We’ll sort you into a group and assign you a robot to work with based on your comfort level and experience.

PARTICIPATE IN ONE OF THESE ACTIVITIES, AND SHARE A PHOTO ON THE PADLET TO ENTER THE DRAW FOR AN INDIGO GIFT CARD!

mark your calendars…

Hope your Mondays were a good start to the week- I’m sure it can only get better. >u
