June Reads
This month’s book themes are WeRead Recommends and Cool Reads for Hot Days. Check out the books on display in the Learning Commons and find a great read today!
Read a book from one of these themes in June to collect your final sticker of the year and, if you’ve collected them all—stay tuned!
Cardboard marble run:
Join us from June 6th-13th and create your very own twisty-turny marble run! Use our Learning Commons supplies (or your own) to create a unique and inventive route! The winning team will get a candy jar! There is a maximum of 3 people per team and the sign-up is just outside the doors of the Learning Commons. The winning team will receive a jar of candy!
Book Cover Art Contest:
Create a digital or physical art piece of your favourite book cover for a chance to have it up on the wall in the quiet corner! Submissions are due June 12th. You can use Procreate, acrylic/watercolour paint or charcoal! Come Friday, June 2nd for specific information & dimensions of the frames. Feel free to work on it in the LC or at home anytime before June 12th!
Important dates:
Thought you returned your book? Come to the library and see if you can find it on the shelf. If not, double-check all locations it could be.
If your books are not returned by June 9th, you will need to pay to replace your books by June 15th. You will be notified about the price and a parent email will be sent home.
Book Return Challenge:
Does your class have a lot of books checked out? Any overdue? The homeroom with the lowest book total count by JUNE 9th will win a cool treat! Will it be your class? Totals will be updated outside the Learning Commons before June 15th!
summer reading:
The Library Learning Commons is closed for the summer, but that doesn’t mean reading has to stop! Books on Sora are available all summer! If you forgot your password, come to the Learning Commons before the end of the year to get your password reset so you can use Sora this summer!
